Ali Abbas, Watercolor Artist and the Spiritual Soul of Pakistani Art

Ali Abbas is an internationally acclaimed Pakistani watercolor artist and recipient of the civil award Tamgha-i-Imtiaz for excellence in art. He has received global recognition including Gold Medal (Spain), Watercolor Master Awards (UK, Hong Kong, Thailand), Best Demos Award (Italy), and numerous honors from Europe and Asia.

He curated Pakistan’s first International Watercolor Biennale “Pearls of Peace” (2016-18) and has published thirteen watercolor books. His work has been exhibited worldwide, and he has served as juror, demonstrator, and workshop mentor across many countries.

Inspired by the Thar Desert and Sufism, Ali Abbas is known for expressing the spiritual and cultural essence of Sindh through watercolor painting. With over 30 years of teaching experience, he serves as Senior Faculty at the Center of Excellence in Art and Design, MUET, Jamshoro.

A visionary artist, his powerful brushwork and innovative techniques have earned him legendary status in contemporary Pakistani watercolor.
