Two Women - Sky Ribbon by Maqbool Ahmed (24x30 Inches)
It is not always easy to paint wind that is red, that moment when two women become sky and crimson ribbons flutter off their bodies into blue air. That's what this poetic masterpiece by legendary Pakistani modernist Maqbool Ahmed does. This is a 24 x 30 inches oil on canvas, figurative abstraction, airy, lyrical, deeply graceful. This is pure sky blue, white mist, floating red ribbon and weightless sisterhood that brings contemporary Pakistani modern art and breezy movement into your space.
This original painting is AVAILABLE with Expert Framing.
The Story and Visual Flow
At first glance you see two women dissolving into sky, wrapped in floating crimson. Right woman, large foreground, dominant, head tilted, hat of fragmented red orange blue, face sky blue, neck pale blue grey, chest white bra with orange red ribbon draped across, waist powder blue with teal navel drop, hips wrapped in bold crimson red ribbons like wind-blown sash, skirt pale sky blue white, legs soft white blue, standing frontal, serene.
Left woman, smaller background, ethereal, head bright orange red flame, torso sheer white with soft blue breasts, waist crimson red splash, dissolving into mist. Small red orange petals float between them - one above, one beside like birds. Background is luminous wash of pale sky blue, aqua, soft white cloud, airy, infinite. Brushwork is fluid, washy blue with thick impasto red ribbon, palette knife orange accents, wet-on-wet sky. Signature bottom left Maqbool in black. You don't just see two women, you feel sky breathing, you feel red ribbons fluttering, you feel light wind carrying color, you feel sisters floating in blue air.
Why Oil on Canvas Works So Well Here
Oil on canvas is perfect for this sky ribbon dance. Maqbool Ahmed uses light, airy, translucent oil washes of sky blue, powder blue, off-white, with thick bold impasto crimson red, vermillion, tangerine orange ribbons creating contrast. The 24x30 inch vertical format makes it a tall, airy, floating statement, perfect for living room, bedroom, calm space. Only original oil on canvas can hold this soft sky wash, this thick ribbon texture, this delicate blue white blending that a print can never give.
