Awais Ahmed Tribal Elder Smoke Ritual Oil On Canvas 20x24
Awais Ahmed Tribal Elder Smoke Ritual Oil On Canvas is an original oil on canvas artwork measuring 20 x 24 inches by Pakistani contemporary artist Awais Ahmed. This is a 100% hand-painted original artwork, not a print. Status: Sold Out - Reference Archive.
This evocative 20x24 vertical masterwork presents a tribal elder smoke ritual portrait. The composition captures an intense close-up of a weathered tribal elder with long flowing white beard and mustache, deep wrinkles, and contemplative eyes, wearing a dark textured turban with red and purple accents. He holds a cigarette between fingers adorned with large turquoise and silver rings, with swirling white smoke rising and blending into abstract washes. Executed in bold impasto palette knife strokes with dramatic splatter, drips and gestural marks in deep browns, smoky whites, midnight black, crimson red, and electric blue. The background dissolves in abstract smoke, black drips and textured off-white washes. Signed 'Awais Ahmed' at bottom left. The entire canvas showcases Ahmed's signature expressive tribal portraiture style with raw realism, smoky atmospheric depth, and profound cultural narrative.
