Awais Ahmed Tribal Elder Red Turban Contemplation Oil On Canvas 18x24
Awais Ahmed Tribal Elder Red Turban Contemplation Oil On Canvas is an original oil on canvas artwork measuring 18 x 24 inches by Pakistani contemporary artist Awais Ahmed. This is a 100% hand-painted original artwork, not a print. Status: Sold Out - Reference Archive.
This intense 18x24 vertical masterwork presents a tribal elder red turban contemplation portrait. The composition captures a powerful close-up of a weathered Balochi tribesman with deep-set piercing eyes, thick mustache, white-grey beard, and heavily textured skin rendered in bold impasto. He wears a vibrant red-orange turban with expressive brushwork, feather and ornamental details, dripping paint accents. His hands, adorned with large prominent turquoise, emerald and agate rings, are clasped firmly around a wooden staff in a pensive, resolute grip. The palette blends fiery orange-red, teal-green, turquoise, burnt umber, and off-white with abstract drips and palette knife texture. Background in washed teal-green and brown with gestural drips. Signed 'Awais Ahmed' at bottom right. The entire canvas showcases Ahmed's signature expressive tribal portraiture style with emotional intensity, thick impasto realism, and profound cultural storytelling.
