This profound 20x24 vertical masterwork presents The Mystic Gaze portrait. The composition captures a close-up profile of a venerable Sufi mystic elder with long flowing white hair and an extensive white beard, weathered sun-kissed skin, and deep contemplative eyes gazing into distance. He wears a bold, heavily textured fiery red-orange turban with thick impasto palette knife strokes in black and crimson. His attire in deep indigo-blue with beaded necklace. Executed in expressive impasto, layered brushwork and gestural drips with a rich palette of crimson red, burnt orange, ivory white, indigo blue, and smoky umber. The background in abstract dark washes of charcoal, olive and amber with atmospheric texture. Signed 'Awais Ahmed' at bottom right. The entire canvas showcases Ahmed's signature mystic portraiture style with spiritual intensity, thick textured realism, and timeless Sufi soulfulness.
